Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Accept My Insurance?
I accept several major carriers and can confirm insurance plans accepted through email or a consultation call. Ohio Medicaid is limited to 2 carriers: CareSource and Buckeye Health Plan.
For currently accepted plans, click here. This list will be updated as more plans are approved.
How Do I Pay for Sessions?
You can use insurance for some plans, while others may require you to use out-of-network benefits, where you pay upfront and seek reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for details.
Cash Rate: $125 per session.
Payment Methods: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
(Note: Cash or checks are not accepted at this time.)
Can I Use My Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
It depends on your EAP provider. Some allow you to choose your own counselor, while others may require contracted providers. See the plan list linked above for details.
Please check with your EAP to confirm eligibility.
Why Do I Need to Provide a Credit Card to Book Online?
A valid credit card holds your appointment. If you miss your appointment, a $25 no-show fee may be charged. Waivers are available for emergencies and reviewed case-by-case. Your card will not be charged until after your session. If using insurance, your card is only charged if there’s an issue with coverage or for applicable fees.
Which States are you licensed in?
I am licensed in two (2) states: Ohio and Massachusetts. You must be physically located in either state to receive services due to licensure restrictions.
Do You Offer In-Person Sessions?
No. As of May 12, 2023, Dryad Counseling operates exclusively through telehealth sessions.
How Do I Know You’re a Good Fit?
If you’ve made it this far, you’re likely considering if I’m the right fit. While I can’t guarantee compatibility, you can read client reviews here to help you decide.
Do You Provide Letters for HRT, Gender-Affirming Surgery, or Accommodations?
Yes, letters are provided on a case-by-case basis. You typically need to be an established client. While HRT often doesn’t require a letter, some insurance plans may require one. Workplace and academic accommodations depend on specific legal and licensure requirements.
What Can I Expect from Appointments?
Free Phone Consultation (15 min): Ensures we’re a good fit and allows you to ask questions.
Intake Appointment (60 min): Discuss symptoms, social supports, substance use, and treatment planning.
Follow-Up Sessions (50-60 min): Guided by your treatment plan. Occasionally, shorter 30-minute sessions may be scheduled.
Do You Accept Medicaid or Medicare?
Medicaid: Currently accepted plans are Buckeye Health Plan and Caresource.
Medicare: I cannot yet accept most Medicare plans. See the linked list above for more details.
Do you offer life coach services?

Life coach services may be helpful to some individuals who are seeking help in a specific area.
